HEARNE ISD BOND PROJECT UPDATE

New Bus Barn Facility

Hearne ISD is excited to announce that construction is about to begin on the new Bus Barn, an important project approved by voters through the Hearne ISD Bond.

Bus Parking

Location: Woodfield

As part of this project, the existing practice field at the Woodfield location will be repurposed to accommodate construction of the new Bus Barn facility.

We understand that construction projects can bring changes to our campuses and community spaces, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as this important work gets underway. The new Bus Barn will provide Hearne ISD with an improved facility to support the district’s transportation operations and better serve our students and staff.

Thank you for approving these bond propositions that will now secure a positive investment in the future of our school community and district. Special thanks to the Hearne ISD Board of Trustees, district staff, community partners, Hearne ISD parents, and our business/community supporters who have made this dream a reality.

Your vote of confidence shown at the polls will now enable our district to do what’s best for our students. The passage of each of the bond propositions was critical for the completion of the needed strategic priorities for the future of our district and will ensure that Hearne ISD continues to be a great place for teaching and learning now and into the future.

Registered voters in the Hearne Independent School District approved four bond propositions, totaling $19 million, on May 4, 2024. The school district drew a majority vote from the community, with the canvassed count for the propositions as follows: (linked here).

Security Vestibules, Security Upgrades, Campus Building Renovations, Playground Equipment Upgrades, HVAC Upgrades, Maintenance Facility Upgrades, HES Gym Remodel, "STAR Building" Demolition, Bus Parking Lot, New Marquees

Proposition B

Projected Projects Include: $3,500,000

Wood Field: Locker Rooms, Restrooms, Parking and Lighting, Press Box Expansion

Proposition C

Propositions Include: $2,500,000

Refinancing of Existing Wood Field Project Loan

Proposition D

Projected Projects Include: $1,500,000
